Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a vibrant and enthusiastic Tourism & Events Coordinator to join Council’s Community Services team. The successful candidate will promote and market tourism, undertake tourism activities that increase visitation and effectively deliver services in order to support the operation of the Coonamble Visitor Information Centre. This is position is for a 9 month period, currently part-time at three days per week but full-time would be considered for the right applicant.

The position is classified at Grade 9 of Council’s Salary Structure with a salary to be negotiated starting from $70,195 (pro-rata) depending upon qualifications and experience.  Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017.

Job Description

Applications are invited for the full-time permanent position of Grants and Communications Officer. The successful applicant’s duties will include sourcing funding opportunities and developing grant applications for both Council and local community projects. The position will be responsible for the management of Council’s website and external communications including social media.

How can I ensure that I submit the best application possible?

When will I be notified?

After a position has closed, interviews are usually held one week later. All unsuccessful applicants are notified via mail at this stage. If you are successful in gaining an interview, please allow 7 working days for Council to contact you. If you were the successful applicant you will be contacted via phone. All unsuccessful applicants will be notified in writing. 

How do I know if I got an interview?

Council will contact you to arrange a suitable time for an interview shortly after the application closing date.

Information can be added to your application at any time until the closing date. After this time, if you are successful in gaining an interview you can bring any additional information to the interview.

Can I put my application on file for future jobs?
