Visiting Coonamble Shire

Coonamble Shire has a population of 4030 (ABS 2011 Census).

The township of Coonamble itself has a population of just under 3000 people. There are two villages in the Shire: Gulargambone, with a population of about 500 people, and Quambone, with about 100 people. Residents of rural properties make up about one-third of the district's population. Coonamble is a great central location to explore the region’s natural attractions. Our people are very friendly with lots of local characters to meet.

Coonamble Shire has two Visitor Information Centres that can help you plan your visit, or you can complete the contact form and request an information pack be sent to you. Click here for town maps.
