Job Description

Manager Roads and Bridges
Regional New South Wales location

  • Professional engineering role
  • Great regional lifestyle
  • Relocation assistance available

Are you looking for your next civil engineering challenge? Is how you live as important as how you work?

Bounded on one side by the Warrumbungle National Park, and on the other by the Western plains and Macquarie Marshes, the Coonamble region offers the perfect combination of a professional challenge and relaxed country living.

Less than two hours’ drive from Dubbo and six hours from Sydney, the area is home to nearly 5,000 residents and is the centre of a highly productive agricultural region and a growing commercial and business hub.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, you will have overall responsibility for managing the effective and timely delivery of all construction and maintenance initiatives across the region’s network of state, regional and rural roads, and related engineering infrastructure. Key specifics will include workforce, resource and asset planning, external contractor/consultant liaison, performance monitoring and providing advice to a range of internal customers.

A qualified Civil Engineer or equivalent local government experience and a member of at least one industry association, you will have a strong background in civil construction where the emphasis has been on managing road and bridge-based activities. You will also have hands-on experience across a broad range of construction and rehabilitation techniques including low traffic volume and low cost solutions for unsealed, natural formation works. From a personal perspective, you will be a natural communicator who leads by example and can quickly build credibility at all levels.

This is a genuine opportunity to enjoy all the benefits of regional living while further developing your career in a challenging, highly varied environment.
