Caring for Country

Coonamble Shire Council acknowledges the Kamilaroi and Wailwan people as the traditional custodians of the land on which it meets and operates, respecting Elders past, present and emerging.

Council seeks to work hand-in-hand with Elders and with the Coonamble and Gulargambone Local Aboriginal Lands Councils in our complementary custodianship of the fire, air, water and earth that make up this Country on which we live and work.

Respecting both ancient lore and modern law, Council seeks to create as safe an environment as possible in which our current and future generations can prosper.
