Council's EPA licences

Coonamble Shire Council has two sewerage treatment plants, one swimming pool, a quarry and livestock market that operate under environmental licences granted by the NSW Environment Protection Authority.

A list of the licence numbers for each operation is provided in the table below. Licence details and history are available from the Environment Protection Authority public register here. Choose 'licences' and then choose 'Coonamble' from the dropdown list of LGAs (Local Government Areas).

Effluent leaving the Coonamble and Gulargambone Sewerage Treatment Plant is monitored in accordance with the terms of the licence. Licencees are required to publish pollution monitoring data that has been collected as a result of a licence condition, in accordance with section 66(6) of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 and written requirements issued by the NSW Environment Protection Authority.

The Coonamble and Gulargambone Sewerage Treatment Plants each have one discharge point. These points are monitored monthly.

The Protection of the Environmental Operations Act 1997 requires the public display of environmental monitoring data within 14 days of the results being available. Links to monitoring data are given in the table below.

Pollution Incident Management Plans are required for each operation. They can be found among Council's plans here.
