Coonamble Waste Management Facility
Coonamble Waste Management Facility is located about 6.5km from Coonamble Post Office, along the Quambone Road (turn off to the right).
Fees and charges apply (EFTPOS and credit facilities available).
The facility is open to accept commercial, industrial and domestic waste seven days each week.
Hazardous waste (including asbestos) is not accepted. DrumMuster collections are taken at this facility, provided each drum has been triple washed before leaving your own property. Unwashed or poorly rinsed drums cannot be accepted.
Opening Hours
Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm during the summer months (as of Monday, 16 September, 2024).
Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 4pm (as of Monday, 16 September, 2024).
Public holidays: closed.
Cost
See Council’s current Fees and Charges below for costs associated with using the facility. Payment is to be made at the tip office upon arrival (cash only currently, but transitioning to cashless).
People using Council's tips are reminded that if they have sorted their waste before arriving at the tip, they can dispose of the following without charge:
- Batteries, scrap metal, e-waste, whitegoods (fridges and freezers with the gas removed; and washing machines).
- Clean, dry earthen fill (uncontaminated).
- Residential green waste, such as lawn clippings, clean straw, trees and branches (up to a branch diameter of 20cm).
- Cardboard, paper, concrete (not containing asbestos) and poly.
If, after sorting, there is still material to be disposed of in landfill, this will attract a charge.
Charges do apply for the following:
- Unsorted and mixed rubbish in an Otto/'wheelie' will be charged at $10 per bin or $5 for a half-filled bin.
- Unsorted domestic waste will be charged at $20 per cubic metre.
- Commercial green waste is charged at $15 per cubic metre.
- Compacted non-recyclable materials at $35 per cubic metre.
- Mattress disposal ($20 for a single bed or cot; $30 for a double-bed and $40 for a king-sized mattress).
- Armchairs at $25 each and lounges at $30 each.
- Tyres (for cars and motorcycles $18 each, 4WDs at $30 each, light trucks at $40 each, trucks at $75 each and tractors at $225 each).
